Intel Rocket Lake Processors to Release Late March

If a post by an MSI representative on Danawa forums is accurate, then it appears we can expect Intel Rocket Lake processors’ exact release date to be revealed soon.

It’s no major surprise mind you, considering Intel has already said that the 11th generation chips are coming in Q1 of 2021, back in October via this blog post. However, the Danawa forum post adds a little confirmation that the Q1 date is realistic, and things are on schedule. The hope is that Intel doesn’t suffer the same appalling supply issues as AMD!

In preparation for the Intel Rocket Lake processors launch, chipset and motherboard manufacturers are gearing up. It is rumoured that the 11th of January will start a slew of reveals for new chipsets in support of Rocket Lake. These would be for the Z590, B560 and H510 chipsets—all supporting PCIe Gen 4.0.

Intel claims to have made a double-digit Iteration Per Clock (IPC) gain thanks to using the new Cypress Cove cores. Fabricated on the existing 14nm+++ process, gamers should see a real boost from Intel Rocket Lake. Publisher of CPU-Z, TPU notes “roughly 12 per cent higher than typical CPU-Z Bench single-thread numbers for the current-gen i9-10900 (non-K) and i9-10900K Comet Lake-S processors.
