AI-Centric Narrative Shooter Green Phoenix Delayed

It’s strangely good to see developers missing their launch dates with games. Not because it means something we’d like to play is now a few more months off but because it shows an attention to quality control that can sometimes be lacking.

From developer Zerouno Games, Green Phoenix is an on-rails 3D space shooter coming out for Switch and Steam later this year (delayed from next week). It’s an indie title that bears a look due to its interesting narrative, which the developers say ‘focuses on the concept of ego and the meaning of freedom’.

There are overtones of Hal from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and GlaDOS, the fantastic antagonist from seminal game Portal—definitely enough to draw attention.

Plus, you shoot things.

Take a look at the trailer below and put a note in your calendar for a release as soon as it’s fully ready.
