At Last – Elden Ring Gameplay Trailer

When it comes to game anticipation, nothing can be quite so high in the action role play gamer’s headspace as the latest game from From Software.

Having made their name with the Souls series, From Software offer some of the most engrossing and demanding games out there.

Elden Ring represents a new path; a collaboration between top designer Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones writer George R R Martin. While FromSoft’s head designer has retained control over the in-game story, it has fallen to Martin to develop the world background and history. It’s a combination that should see some really strong and developed storylines, as well as, of course, some of the finest gameplay available.

The trailer has it all: massive twisted bosses, the like of which we first saw in Demon’s Souls; beautiful landscapes; dark menacing shadows; and a brand new world to explore. The game also boasts a fully customisable main character and a wide range of weapons that come from many years of iterative design and understanding of the genre.

There’s no doubt that Elden Ring is going to bring many hours of difficult and rewarding combat and adventure to players on its release in January. Yes, with the trailer comes a solid announcement of the release date: January 21st 2022.

Elden Ring will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox one, plus PC via Steam.
