Interstellar Colony Builder ‘Base One’ Coming 2021

Base One, the space station simulator with hardcore survival and RPG mechanics from publisher Blowfish Studios and developer PixFroze.

Base One is the interstellar colony construction simulator to add to your wishlist. The game allows you to construct interstellar colonies in a simulation-style RPG. Base One will be available on PC and consoles including PS5 and Xbox Series X. We don’t have a clear release date from the publishers just yet, but they estimate it will be launched in Q2 of 2021.

Step into the role of intrepid explorers seeking to build new homes across the far reaches of the cosmos. Establish new colonies by building space stations, managing vital needs like heat, oxygen, and power, while searching for valuable resources in uncharted wilds.

Overcome a range of trials in a story-driven campaign set against a backdrop of socio-political drama where special interests and the powerful stand much to gain from the final frontier. Balance each station’s needs while researching and unlocking new technology that will ensure the long-term success and viability of human presence in the region.

Outfit stations with solar panels, docking bays, life support systems, and more. Master devices such as probe launchers to gather items out in the vacuum of space — and keep the crew’s morale up with critical creature comforts like sofas and the ever-useful toilet-shower.

Base One‘s intuitive layout systems allow for incredible customization with a sleek interface. Each module requires power and special considerations for heating and oxygen to support life. Link each module to solar cells, batteries, and heaters to keep stations habitable or hop into a custom game mode to design colonies without constraints.

“Base One captures the curiosity and resourcefulness emblematic of humankind’s endeavours into the universe,” said Ben Lee, CEO, Blowfish Studios. “Our partners at PixFroze have crafted an immersive simulation that’s sure to spark imaginations when Base One comes to PC and consoles in Q2 2021. We look forward to having you along for the ride!”

You might recognise the developers, Blowfish, from their previous publications like Yestermorrow, which has a 7/10 Steam rating, and Whipseey that has a 6/10 Steam rating. Their previous titles have a theme of stylised games with an interesting concept and replay value. It seems as though Base One is going to be an anticipated title to add to their portfolio. Blowfish Studios is an award-winning independent game developer and publisher based in Sydney, Australia. We strive to release original multi-platform games while also collaborating with developers from around the world.

Similarly, the creative studio behind Base One is PixFroze. PixFroze is an independent video game studio based in Russia. According to its website, comprised of three developers, PixFroze seeks to push the simulation genre’s boundaries. Base One is their first title and will be an exciting first foray into the space simulation arena.

Base One will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Q2 2021 for £19.99 with English voice-over alongside French, German, Spanish, and Russian text language options.
