Most Anticipated New Games

There are always games coming out, providing us with more to play on all consoles. Here are some of the most anticipated games of 2023.

Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2 is a very long-awaited sequel to the original Dead Island, released in 2011. After over ten years of anticipation, it’s finally close to being finished. Six playable characters are available in Dead Island 2, along with a three-player online co-op. The characters may channel their mutation through bursts of zombified anger mode, as well as through a skill tree that develops and accentuates their talents. They are all afflicted with the zombie virus yet resistant to it, allowing you to use powers to your advantage. Hack, slash, and blow up your way through zombie-infested carnage.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Not a lot can be said about Nintendo’s next Zelda game. The much-loved and often ranked at the top of peoples’ favourite games of all time lists, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is finally getting a follow-up. Nintendo has kept much under wraps. We know we’ll be continuing the open-world aspect of the previous instalment, and that it looks like Nintendo is putting a darker spin on the Kingdom of Hyrule.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy Cover

“Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. You have received a late acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discover that you are no ordinary student: you possess an unusual ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic.”

Fans of Harry Potter have been yearning for a game that allows them to truly experience what it’s like to be a Hogwarts student for years. It will be a solely single-player, narrative-focused experience that takes you throughout the life of a Hogwarts student as they learn magic, attend classes, and uncover dark secrets.

Final Fantasy XVI

The following major, single-player instalment in Square Enix’s cherished JRPG series, Final Fantasy 16 (XV), will be released on the PS5 in 2023. The story of Final Fantasy 16 will centre on three major characters: Clive, the game’s protagonist, Joshua, Clive’s younger brother, and Jill, a close family friend of the two brothers. The action will take place in the country of Valisthea during a period of political instability. Because Final Fantasy 16 is an action RPG, don’t anticipate the turn-based combat of earlier games; instead, expect fighting more in line with Final Fantasy 15.
